Little Scholar's Pre-School and Busy Scholar's Out of school club.

Little Scholars and Busy Scholars are committed to providing a fair and open admission system that offers a competitively priced and excellent value service. It is our intention to make our setting accessible to children and families from all sections of the local community.

Admissions

When a parent/carer contacts the setting enquiring about a place for their child, they will be given all the relevant information they require including details of the Admissions and Fees policy, and informed of whether there is currently a suitable place available for their child.

If a suitable place is available the parent/carer and, the child will be invited to visit and speak to members of staff. If the parent/carer agrees to abide by all the terms and conditions of admission, including the level of fees and arrangements for payment, they will be asked to complete and sign the Registration Form to confirm their child’s place.

Once the admission is secure, the Manager, or a designated member of staff, will contact the parent/carer concerned to arrange a date for the child’s first session at the Pre - School or After School Club. At this stage, the provisions of the Settling In policy will come into operation.

Parents/carers will also be asked to provide both the settings with any further information which they feel will enable us to take the best care of their children. This should include particular likes and dislikes in food, sleep times, dummy use etc.

Settling In Sessions.

We believe that children settle best when they have a key person to relate to, who knows them and their parents well, and who can meet their individual needs. Research shows that a key person approach benefits the child, the parents, the staff and the setting by providing secure relationships in which children thrive, parents have confidence, staff are committed and the setting is a happy and dedicated place to attend or work in.

We want children to feel safe, stimulated and happy in the setting and to feel secure and comfortable with staff. We also want parents to have confidence in both their children's well-being and their role as active partners with the setting..We aim to make the setting a welcoming place where children settle quickly and easily because consideration has been given to the individual needs and circumstances of children and their families.

All children are unique and the amount of time that a child takes to settle into Little Scholars or Busy Scholars can vary enormously. Therefore, children will be given three free settling session of 2.5 hours; giving your chidlren time to settle in at their own pace, so as to make them feel welcome, safe and confident in a new environment.
